Mahomet-Seymour 7-1

It has been awhile since my last post, and I apologize to all my adoring fans out there that I left you in such a manner as I did.  But, I have found a little inch in my gut to get back to writing after hearing about Alices incoherent e-mail.  First, lets address that issue very quickly, because we all know this person is off her bearings and there are people out there that can help you get back on track.  Mahomet has plenty of school spirit, and it is most likely that you just dont have any yourself.  Person/it/jackass (excuse my language), if you are going to say something at least let us know who you are and not hide behind a hush e-mail.  That is pathetic and quite childish I might add.  Now, that is enough time spent with that issue, quite frankly, I spent too much time talking about it!

Mahomet is currently 3-0 after coming off that horrible defeat to BCC.  Now let me tell you a little bit about that defeat at BCC.  First, our star linebacker, Jon McComb, had a season ending knee injury in which was not supposed to be like that.  He was going into surgery thinking that he was gone for a few weeks, and came out of surgery and being told he is done for the year.  That is a lot for him and the rest of the team to handle.  Jon was the vocal leader of the team, and that was suddenly taken away.  Second, our other starting linebacker was suspended for making a comment to a girl who was dressed inappropriately at school.  A girl was wearing a very revealing shirt, and this young man told the girl to put her tits away.  Well, that was very blunt of him to say and probably shouldnt have said it, but was it worth a three day suspension.  I believe not!  Both parties should have been sat down with each other, no one else (they brought in her father and not the LBs parents and they all ganged up on the young man), and make the young man apologize and tell the girl what she was wearing was inappropriate.  No suspensions were necessary.  After all this happened on Friday, the boys were mentally exhausted and were already beat before they took one step onto the field.  It was a very disappointing loss for the Bulldogs, and if the High School administration would have handled the situation with a little more maturity, than the outcome would not have been as bad as it was.  M-S lost to BCC 6-47.  Now moving on:

Mahomet has come back with three strong performances, and running back Andrew Brewer has been showing the way.  Andrew has rushed for over 700 yards in the past three games, and the 11th best rushing game in Illinois history with 29 attempts for 418 yards!!  A big shout out needs to go to the offensive line of Mahomet.  They have been creating holes all year long, and Andrew Brewer has been using them to his advantage.  With Mahomets weak passing game, M-Ss running game has to be on their A game in order for Mahomet to be competitive.  In the one loss we have, Mahomet has gotten the job done on the ground.

Going into the last week of the season, Mahomet is playing for a high seed in class 4A.  It has been said that Mahomet is on the bubble of being bumped up into class 5A, but hopefully that does not happen.  Mahomet finishes the season taking on Normal U-High playing at Hancock Stadium (IllinoisStates stadium).  Look for Mahomet to stay consistent on the ground, and another win going to Mahomet.  Andrew Brewer will have another big night and most likely will near the 2,000 yard mark for the season!

GO BULLDOGS

P.S.  A big THANKS needs to go to the parents for getting their sons through the first 8 weeks, and for feeding those that attend the tailgates!!
