The Silver is 11-7 against non-conference teams. Take away the 0-3 preformance of Glenbard West, the conference weeakest team this year and your 11-4. Not to bad, espically when you look at who the losses are from. #8 Prospect, Catholic League power house Loyola (a 1 point loss by newly ranked York 6-1), and then two other good teams in Sandburg & Downers South.
And as far as Glenbard West they fell to #2 Wheaton South and Addison Trail. I look at it not so much as there are more weak teams than last year, but that the teams that are there are more evenly mtached than in the past.
There's a good possiblity that the Silver may put 4 teams in the playoffs. And I'll bet one of them that is 5-4 with enough playoff points will get paired up with a 6-3 team with low playoff points and make a run to the quarter finals.

i was just saying there not as good as they used to. And that it its not a close conference race. I never mentioned anything about non-conference games.
True, there are really only three teams left in the mix for the title, but I don't think that makes them not as good as they use to be. I think that York, DGN will do well in the playoffs, but I'm not the only one saying this. Don't look for the usual suspects in the state finals this year. There are very few dominat teams acorss the state and head are going to turn when a lot of the teams ranked at the end of the regular season will fall in the first or second round.
I truely believe that in our BIG 30 there are only 2 maybe 3 teams that I feel will be a sure bet to get to the Semis or the finals. There is a lot of parity this year across the state.
