Rankings to laugh at

Occassionally I get some free time during the season & I will check out to see what other web sites are doing.

I came across these rankings that are from a national web site that had a deal with the USA today. Nothing against any of the teams that are ranked, but even most of the Freshman B players at most of the schools in the state sould rank better than this. Scroll down to find out which site it is.

Rank School
1 Libertyville
2 Bolingbrook
3 Orr (Chicago)
4 Normal
5 East St. Louis
6 Mount Carmel (Chicago)
7 Fenwick (Oak Park)
8 Maroa-Forsyth (Maroa)
9 Lake Zurich
10 Darnall (Geneseo)
11 Carmel (Mundelein)
12 Lincoln-Way East (Frankfort)
13 Homewood-Flossmoor (Flossmoor)
14 St. Rita (Chicago)
15 Bureau Valley (Manlius)
16 Naperville North (Naperville)
17 Marian Central Catholic (Woodstock)
18 Barrington
19 Hubbard (Chicago)
20 Loyola Academy (Wilmette)
21 Mascoutah
22 Lincoln-Way Central (New Lenox)
23 Taylorville
24 Wheaton-Warrenville South (Wheaton)
25 St. Teresa (Decatur)

I will say that I didn't know Orr had shut out all 4 of it's opponents so far this year. And if you were wondering, they are not elegible to make the IHSA playoffs.

I will subscribe to Maxpreps immediately. Really, they have Bolingbrook too low.

Wow, LW East at number 12 in the state, when the USA Today has them at number 11 in the nation.

It reminds me of that old ESPN commercial where Steiner ranks Holyfield the 80th best heavyweight in Georgia.

LOL!  I don't think Mascoutah is good enough to rank that high.   I know they are  4-0, but they really played no one yet.   EAWR and Harrisburg are much smaller than them and Centralia hasn't had a winning season in I don't know when.

Glad to see BV @ 15, but where is Driscoll? Kind of hard to miss a team that has won a championship 4 years in a row and usually beats Marion who is @ 17.

Hey hey. Don't short change Driscoll. They set the state record last year by winning their 5th in a row.

No way is Libertyville #1. And where is Stevenson and Carmel H.S? I do like them picking Lake Zurich # 9.
