Compaired to some other states Illinois falls behind in the number of actual games played by our football teams. Heck Indiana plays 10 regular season games. With that in mind and the fact that often a semi-final match up can sometime be a more evenly matched game than the finals, should the IHSA try to have a 3rd place game? and if they did, would it take away from the finals possibly?

Somebody has to cover the entire state.
Illinois football is perfect. Where would the third place game be played? When would it be played? The ihsa has it right by playing it the day after thanksgiving so everyone is out of school. Some of the best games of the playoffs are 2nd and 3rd round games anyway although this year they all could be in the first round. My opinion is to keep it how it is and keep the 9 game reg. season.
