DOES ANYBODY KNOW EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED DURING THIS GAME????
i have been hearing bits and pieces. if it was as bad as some have been saying those coaches should be fired immediately for letting it happen. no excuses, the problem with our society nowadays is that everybody has an excuse and there is no punishment.
Here is part of the article the Belleville News-Democrat had on the subject:
The Cahokia-Griffin game was marred in the second half by several major penalties against a frustrated Comanches squad. Tempers flared on both sidelines and Leonard and Comanches coach Antwyne Golliday engaged in an animated conversation in the middle of the field following the game.
Cahokia (8-4) played much of the final three quarters without two of its top offensive threats in wide receiver Clyde Young and running back Thomas Winters. Young suffered a knee injury and Winters injured an ankle.
"They (Griffin) took away some of our speed with a couple of cheap shots. I saw the one on Clyde and there was no call for that," Golliday said. "The officiating was terrible. We didn't play well, and Griffin is a very good team. They didn't need any help."
i heard the cahokia coach was sending kids as headhunters and starting fights in the piles. i did not see the game or article, i heard just about it.
we've all been in poorly reffed games, and sometimes tempers get flared, but it is the coaches responsibilty to control his team. if you can not control your team, then you should not be a coach. not sure if this applies to either coach, just a blanket statement.
